JurisLink has created its own Web-based videoconferencing software that allows attorneys to speak with their incarcerated clients through kiosks located in correctional facilities. The remote connections between attorneys and clients can include more than two participants, and it offers encryption to protect the contents of any conversation.
For that development, Ovum recently announced that it has provided JurisLink with a 2016 On the Radar award in the “Connecting the Physical World” category. Ovum announces its yearly awards at the annual Ovum Industry Conference. This year’s congress took place in London just a couple weeks ago.
The On the Radar awards recognize the information technology companies that create value for their end users, regardless of the industry in which those end users work.
This specific award stretches farther than just the companies listed above. JurisLink’s videoconferencing capabilities would not be possible without an attachment to a video processing service. It sources its real-time communications bandwidth and security from the CafeX Communications service. CafeX offers its Web-based real-time communications (WebRTC) software for use by all manner of business clients.
Clients such as JurisLink can then take CafeX’s abilities and spread them into any number of directions. In this case, attorneys and incarcerated persons can try to benefit from their own access to secure voice and video – something that CafeX CEO Dan Solito said could help to “to power real-time engagement within the fabric of business workflows to accelerate judicial efficiency.”
Of course, Slade Trabucco, the president of JurisLink expressed his own excitement about these developments and noted that his company’s link to CafeX “makes all the difference in the world” to his clients, which will propel his company’s success.
The only step necessary now is for correctional facilities and legal representatives to get on board with the product. Public defenders, for instance, can save their offices thousands of dollars by making the switch. Larger facilities also stand to benefit from the convenience and ease of use that JurisLink promises all its clientele.
