GENBAND Shows Off WebRTC Offerings Whenever Possible

It’s not news that GENBAND, a developer of multimedia and cloud communications solutions, has been making a splash in the world of WebRTC lately. Indeed, the company hasn’t been trying to keep it a secret at all, and has been instead taking every opportunity to show off its WebRTC-based solutions, which are getting top billing at LTE Asia 2013 this week, along with the company’s newly acquired fring mobile OTT solution.

"With Asia-Pacific markets primed for LTE growth over the next few years, we are delighted to present our market-leading WebRTC, cloud and SMART OFFICE unified communications capabilities, which provide our operator customers with innovative new ways to monetize services and enhance the end user experience," said Brad Bush, GENBAND chief marketing officer.

Of course, when it comes to WebRTC, GENBAND’s top solution is its SPiDR WebRTC Gateway. Released earlier this year, SPiDR is said to be the industry’s most comprehensive WebRTC gateway, as it provides an intelligent bridge between traditional VoIP networks and the “open ecosystem of the Internet.” With this gateway, network operators are able to deliver competitive applications over the Internet to unlock new revenue potential from their existing assets.

Meanwhile, the SPiDR Gateway stands apart from competing solutions by being deployed as a component of GENBAND’s SMART CORE, SMART EDGE and SMART EXPERIENCE solutions.

In the few months that the SPiDR Gateway has been available, it has already led GENBAND to success as the company, along with carrier Bell Aliant , was given the Global Telecoms Business Innovation Award in the Business Service Innovation category at an event earlier in June. Officially, the award recognizes the two companies for their “outstanding innovation and collaboration,” which has much to do with the deployment of SPiDR on Bell Aliant’s network.

Outside of WebRTC, GENBAND has its hands in various areas of communications, including RCS with its NUViA solution and white label OTT with its new fring IP communications service.
