Video conferencing is one of the most common ways for people to communicate in this tech-filled world. The technology allows participants from two or more locations to communicate through a two-way audio and video transmission. It revolutionized the way businesses work.
With video conferencing, employees can work from home; collaborate on group projects with people from half way across the globe, and even stream presentations. Many companies have hopped on the video conferencing train.
Just this week, former Tandberg, Cisco executives announced they would be joining forces to create a new video conferencing vendor, called Pexip. "We will be going 100 percent through partners or resellers," said Simen Teigre, Pexip co-founder and CEO. "We are strongly focused on building trust-based, business-founded relationships, and we believe there is a great opportunity here to support the reseller business with our solution complementing what they already sell, and also to make it easier for them to transition into more recurring, sticky and services-based customer relationships."
With visual communication methods here to stay, it’s no surprise that Vidtel, a pioneer in cloud-based any-to-any video conferencing has enhanced its own service with a new solution called MeetMe. This solution takes advantage of a person’s Web browser verses a video program to connect with one another.

With Vidtel's MeetMe and WebRTC implementation, you get an ideal customer experience: HD videoconferencing and collaboration that works across different standards and devices, anywhere, and right away without five minutes or more of pre-meeting setup."
As Wharton explained, the new solution will not require any hardware or software downloads. Instead, it will work with devices that have any video capabilities. So, if a person is using Skype and another is using an SIP application they will still be able to connect with one another through the browser. Vidtel will demo its new MeetMe solution at the INFOCOMM in Orlando, Fla., later this month.
