Usability is the key to successful unified communications. Whether you’re the vendor or provider selling the UC solution or the business customer buying it, success lies in the benefits users gain. If a communications system isn’t user friendly, they won’t use it and the businesses fails to see a return on their investments and will seek an alternative solution. In a cloud-driven world, that’s much easier than with traditional on-premises solutions that required investment in hardware as well as management expertise.
Understanding this, Voyant has recently focused its efforts on enhancing its UCaaS solution to increase its usability and functionality, both for end customers and partners. Now, it has gone even further and acquired mobile client developer Acrobits to deliver a better mobile experience for its UCaaS and CPaaS customers.
The acquisition gives Voyant access to Acrobits’ softphone applications and for smartphones, a WebRTC client for browser-based communications, and developer SDKs. With its existing unified communications capabilities, these new additions will further enable its customers and developer partners to leverage voice, video and text-based communications across all environments. The SDKs will also make it easier for developers and CPaaS customers to embed communications into mobile and web experiences to extend their communications capabilities and customer engagement strategies.
Voyant President Justin Nelson says the addition of the Acrobits team and technology “will more effectively meet our evolving business and service provider customer needs through tight integration of the mobile app experience with Voyant’s cloud-based UCaaS service offering and Tier 1 carrier voice network.”
With Acrobits, Voyant takes another step towards delivering a unified communications portfolio that accentuates ease of use and consistent experiences across domains and devices. A more tightly integrated mobile experience with the Acrobits mobile apps will ensure a more meaningful UC experience with support for other major platforms, including Cisco/BroadSoft, NetSapiens, Asterisk, FreeSWITCH, among others.
