Over the last six months I have been enjoying excellent WebRTC-based video conferencing, provided by a variety of the current available sites (Tawk, FACEmeeting, Bistri, etc.). What I have generally experienced has been excellent, both in overall video quality and general experience. I have noticed that occasionally echo is an issue if an end point has a separate microphone and speakers, but with a headset or a dedicated speakerphone device, the audio quality is also excellent.
The dilemma over which video codec should become the standard for use in WebRTC video calls has gotten even more interesting. With the approaching IETF meeting on Nov. 7, where industry members are likely to discuss the video standard, Cisco seems to have put H.264 back on the WebRTC radar.

I like the Truly.am service due to its use of WebRTC, however it does leave me with many uncomfortable questions, and even Truly.am developers Agustin Haller and Dayana Jabif recognize that a great many want to maintain anonymity on the Internet. Flirting, though, has been a VoIP windfall and there is no reason to think that it can't have the same impact for WebRTC.
